A materials talk built on three crops. Straw, the most wasted resource on the planet, locking up 33kg of CO2 per square metre of panel and paying farmers for a byproduct they currently burn. Hemp, which sequesters as much carbon in ninety days as an acre of forest does in fifty-seven years, and can replace studs, beams, cladding and flooring. Bamboo, with tensile strength, a fast fibre-to-land ratio and craft cultures already in place.
